Symbiosis Institute of Technology, a constituent of Symbiosis International University was established in the year, 2008.

Research programs leading to Ph. D. Degree in all the disciplines were introduced in the Faculty of Engineering of Symbiosis International University in 2010.

The Institute’s curriculum places equal emphasis on fundamental knowledge and the most recent trends and advancements. Like all other Symbiosis Institutes, the Institute has created and acquired very high-quality infrastructure, including multimedia classrooms, well-equipped labs, high-end computing, a well-stocked modern library with digital media and databases, an auditorium, seminar halls, separate hostels for boys and girls, and playgrounds.

Through systematic and efficient planning and control of the teaching and learning process both inside and outside the classroom, the Institute offers a setting that is conducive to maximizing the potential of both staff and students. The fundamental teaching-learning process is supplemented by planning tech-fests, cultural events, sporting events, industry-institute teaching-learning collaborations, guest lectures by well-known figures, and student exchange programs (Global Immersion Program) with international universities.

With the vision of Dr. S. B. Mujumdar Sir, Chancellor of SIU and founder of Symbiosis, Students receive training in foreign languages, history of science and technology, service learning, critical and creative thinking, design thinking, tinkering, human values and ethics, experiential learning, project-based learning, and Internet of Things, producing quality Engineers with human value. The students can choose between courses from various Symbiosis Institutes and a customised SIBM diploma. Students can take online classes from Coursera, MOOC, SWAYAM, EDX and other providers to further their education.

The honours/ minor courses in all disciplines are offered to the students to gain in-depth knowledge in a specialised area, giving an opportunity to work on different technical projects in a group to produce an outcome in terms of paper publications/ patents.

The students undergo a semester-long Industry Internship with a good stipend. SIT is leading in all fronts including skyrocketing placements in the academic year 21-22. Witnessed the presence of 170 plus companies with 22% offering a package above 10 LPA, the highest being 42LPA. With an overall 97% placement and an average package of 9.42 LPA, we achieved 100% placements in CS, IT, E&TC, and Mechanical Branches.

Reputed companies like Microsoft, Netcracker, Bajaj Finserv (HealthRx), Cimpress, Sapient, KONE elevator, Philips India Pvt Ltd, IBM, Persistent systems, Precisely, Hitachi Consulting, ZS associate, Miniorange, Dassault systems, Dematic, Kirloskar Ferrous ISMT, Mahindra Finance, DAR group, etc. participated in the campus hiring.

The students at SIT are from all parts of the country across the globe. This diversity coupled with their excellent schooling and family background creates an environment best suited for peer learning. They are enthusiastic to supplement their learning with participation in competitions, organizing events and so on.

About Electronics & Telecommunication Department

The Department has a strength of over 500 students enrolled in its Undergraduate, Post-Graduate and Ph.D. programmes. The department teaches core subjects of E&TC, offers a range of subjects as electives, and facilitates industrial projects, all of which prepare the students for a career after their basic degree. Efforts are made to impart as much project-based learning as is feasible. Towards this, investments are made in an ongoing manner in having well-equipped laboratories, and software tools like MALTAB, SIMULINK to name a few. The department has undertaken industry-sponsored research and has started interactions with other universities and research groups in the industry.

The department has dedicated faculty and staff who continuously engage in improving teaching methods and undergo faculty development programs and undertake research. The faculty of the Department along with their JRFs are involved in research in areas such as communications, control systems, signal processing, image processing embedded systems, IOT, and several allied areas.

Every year students carry out the final year projects in collaboration with industries. This list includes organizations such as ARAI, DRDO, Whirlpool, KPIT, Sparc Minda etc.
